Flea and Tick Control

Ticks, Fleas and Mosquitoes-  Caring for Your Pet

It is that time of year again- the sun is hot, the rain is wet and life flourishes in the mountains of Western North Carolina.  Along with the beautiful foliage that greens our mountains and cleans our air, spring to life an abundance of little critters that thrive on our pets as well as their owners.

Because of the severity of array of illness that ticks and fleas can give our pets, it is our recommendation that pet owners pay special attention in caring for and treating their dogs and cats with flea and tick prevention.  Weaverville Pet Pantry has both conventional and alternative methods for treating your beloved animals for these pests.

Conventional Options

Our top brand sellers are well known: Frontline Plus and Advantix. These are chemical “top spot” products which have been around for many years and have proven their effectiveness.frontline

Weaverville Pet Pantry carries these brands of conventional flea and tick products for dogs and cats, puppies and kittens:

  • Advantix

Alternative Options

For those who prefer a more natural approach in combating the cycles of fleas and ticks,  and especially for animals with any kind of allergy or health issue, we have a selection of alternative products:

Pet Naturals of Vermont’s Flea and Tick will also repel flies and mosquitoes. This formula comes in both a spray and a wipe, which is useful when hiking with your dog.dogs-together

We are very excited about a new product by PetzLife, called TickZ.  This is an herbal powder that gets added to food twice daily for 5 days. After that time, TickZ helps to repel ticks and other biting insects up to 2 to 3 months. The dosage can be repeated as needed.

Come to Weaverville Pet Pantry on 1 Merrimon Avenue to chat with us about your specific needs for your specific pets.  We love our pets as much as you do, and strive to bring to our beloved animals in WNC the very best support for their over-all health and well-being.
